The Sacred Synod resolved to close Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. A Theological Seminary opened in its place; two years later it was renamed the Kyiv Theological Academy.

Kyiv Theological Academy closed (in 1920 the buildings of KMA were passed to Dnipro Military Flotilla and to the Central Research Library of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences).

(September 19) Decree of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada “On the revival of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy on its historic territory as an independent Ukrainian institution of higher education – University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” issued. Viacheslav Brukhovetsky, Doctor of Philology, nominated UKMA president.
